Our Core Values

Appreciation
We honor and value the contributions of our staff, volunteers, partners, and the disability community we serve—working together to advance accessibility and equity.

Growth
We commit to continuous improvement and thoughtful expansion of services to meet evolving needs and improve access to essential resources.

Diversity
We embrace diverse perspectives and lived experiences as essential to fulfilling our mission—and to shaping a future with more inclusive access for all.

Awareness
We strive to raise public understanding of the challenges people with disabilities face—and how accessibility and support can change lives.

Integrity
We uphold the highest standards of honesty, transparency, and ethical behavior in all we do, especially as we work to expand access to life-changing tools and services.

Accountability
We remain accountable to the community, our stakeholders, and every individual we serve, always striving for accessible and equitable outcomes.

Our Philosophy

The Independent Living Philosophy is at the heart of everything we do.
It holds that individuals with disabilities have the right to make their own choices, control their lives, and live independently with the appropriate supports in place. This means actively working to eliminate barriers to accessibility, advocating for inclusive systems and environments, and funding the tools and technologies that promote self-determination and full participation in daily life.
The Blanche Fischer Foundation fully embraces this philosophy and integrates accessibility-centered thinking into all our funding decisions.
