How the Blanche Fischer Foundation Web Site Is Organized

Overview

The Blanche Fischer Foundation (BFF) Web site is divided into three levels:

• Home page
• Level 1 pages
• Level 2 pages

Home Page

The BFF home page contains navigational text links to Level 1 pages in two places: Stylized navigation links are located in the far left column and text links are located at the bottom of the page. The stylized navigation bar uses style sheets to render its appearance; it does not use graphic images. All images used in the site are accompanied by Alt-text descriptions.

At the very top of the page are three links: the first, which may be invisible on some browsers, gives the viewer the option of skipping the navigation links and going directly to copy; the second one points to this page (structural description and access instructions); and the third leads to a page that provides instructions for checking the version of your present graphical browser and links for browser upgrades. Beneath these links is the BFF logo: the words "Blanche Fischer Foundation" are stacked, and to the right is a large letter "F" made up of gray squares. Aligning with the bottom of the the logo is the following text: "Assisting Oregonians with Physical Disabilities Since 1981."

In the left column are stylized navigation links. The page's narrative content is to the right, and text links are in a layout table beneath. At the bottom of the home page are, in order: accessibility testing validation notes and copyright and update statements.

Level 1 Pages

Each Level 1 page has a smaller, modified version of the foundation's logo in the upper left corner: a stylized letter "F" with the words, "Blanche Fischer Foundation," alongside it.

Below: in the left column are stylized navigation links, with the page's narrative content to the right. The text links are found in a layout table below the narrative, followed by copyright and page update information at the bottom.

Level 2 Pages

Each Level 2 page links directly from a Level 1 page, but not from the top-level navigation — the left-hand navigation bar or text links at the bottom of the page. Level 2 pages have a "return-to" link back to their referring Level 1 page. Although they do not include the stylized navigation bar otherwise found in the left column, they do include text links at the bottom of the page.
